BlackVue App Reviews

I would like to see two features added that would make the app really useful: 1. Add a button that I could quickly tap to mark a video currently being recorded (time stamp) for later viewing. Otherwise it is cumbersome to find it. Make it easy to tap while I am driving. 2. Enable a feature so that Event videos are automatically queued for cloud upload. Or automatically upload the ones I tap as it is being recorded while I am driving. I have in-car wifi so it should be uploaded by the time I get to my destination. Otherwise I have to sit in the car and saint for the uploads to the cloud or downloads to the phone there. 3. Improve the switching from one wifi to another one of the 3 if the signal is stronger.

I have this and the legacy version on the same phone. Legacy works fine. If I do a normal join to the BlackVue wifi it works for both but assigns a default gateway to the blackvue which of course breaks the data connection in my cell phone. So I assign a manual address with no gateway or DNS and the legacy version works but this new version says it connected to blackvue wifi (which I am). Please fix.

Always let me update the firmware. And I downloaded wont let me connect to my DR500GW

This app is so terrible Apple should pull it from the store and revoke the developers license for a year. Awful video quality, requires you to share your gps location just to use, videos dont load more than half the time, if you watch too many you get blocked (seriously thats stupid - use our app and we block you - GENIUS!), and the list goes on. The UI is non intuitive and just bad as well.

App still needs bugs worked out, can set time in the app but it wont show correct time on playback. No setting for video length. Speed doesnt show on video playback. Videos take a while to load for playback.

Its funny that this app main focus is cloudvue but its the only feature that dose not work smh please fix and I will change my rating to 5 stars

Writing a review here is a waste of time. Your talking to a bunch of dummys who dont know what the heck is going on in app developing and software programming . Im almost sure they dont even know what a review for a app is made, This dashcam is owned by some company somewhere in Korea I have emailed them several times with a hole bunch of bugs and problems, always just replying "we are working on a fix" but nothing has changed from the previous version

I can connect to the camera. Can review the files. Cant get the time to sync (says its successful) but doesnt actually change the time. I suppose this could be a bug with the timezone selection where maybe the selected timezone doesnt actually apply the zone correction. About the only real positive feelings I have about the app is it has had a few updates. At one point, thought the company was closing shop since they started to completely ignore the other apps. Still havent decided if Im gonna keep the camera. Pretty expensive for a camera with poor customer support.

First! You need to make it so connecting via wifi doesnt shut down your iPhones cell service by making it think its using the blackvue wifi to connect to the Internet. GoPro figured this out, please do the same. Or just give me the option to boot the camera with wifi off. Huge feature thats missing is ability to delete/edit videos. Why cant I junk the event recordings that were just from me hitting a big bump? I dont want that using up my space. Theres also a glitch with resetting the password. The issue is that it doesnt let you, no matter what you type theres an error message saying the password requires 8 characters. All around pretty glitchy app. Not visually appealing, and lacking features. The camera is amazing but highly lacks support from a good app.

Two days I was looking for how to set up correct time zone. If you have any problems with that try this : Once you set up everything at the computer and save it. it will still not show correct time but youll have to reformat SD card in the camera, holding 10, 15 seconds. It will tell u when its done. It worked for me. The app definitely need to improve its not much options I can use.

Very poor usability and will not work unless given permission to track location in background. Reverting to old app and camera firmware.

When you first start the app, BlackVue will have a pop-up telling you that they DO COLLECT YOUR LOCATION and WILL SHARE IT with other users. The problem: if you disagree the app quit. Thats right, now you cannot use your $400 camera efficiently because you need the app. BlackVue should make this an option, not a requirement. If they do, they need to state this in their website and the camera box.

When i am connected to the camera it shows very blurry live video. But when I go back in saved clips it shows very clear hd video.. Please fix

Missing tons of features. After reading the owners manual, I cant access a quarter of the camera setting in the app... Very useless app... I will be returning my camera to Amazon.

Well that was sneaky. I upgraded the firmware (I assume upgrade means better?) now the old App does not work and the new App requires that I agree to share location information before it will work. It does not matter that it is anonymous. This is blackmail and is not right or honest. Now to figure out how to go back to the old firmware and App. Anybody have an way to do that?

Their sales pitch never tells you that you can only view a certain amount of videos before it blocks you for the month. This includes videos that fail to load. They are still counted as one view even though you never got to view it. Videos failing to load happens more often than not. Thumbs down.

Sorry formula drift, you picked a terrible dash cam provider. Not going to share my gps location to watch the dash cams. Better luck next year.

Take everything you know about how a user interface should behave and do the exact opposite. Thats this thing.

Come on guys. I want to see this sport keep growing. No one is going to sacrifice privacy to watch the dash cams.
